Been eating here since I was 5 years old. Marco and Pepe are Awesome!! Food is delicious here. I highly recommend white pizza and bean soup. Absolutely delicious.
So good! I love the white pizza
Great italian food and say hi to the owner when you come in
Quality service and we we're able to sit in a quiet space. I had the cheese ravioli and while it was homemade, it was tasteless. I would expect a flavorful experience from an Italian style restaurant but even the tomato sauce was boring.
My friend and I were looking for a authentic Italian food. She tried to order lobster with white clam sauce & after my meal arrived, she was told that lobster does not do well in butter sauce......She then chose the clams with linguini & received spaghetti noodles instead linguini. Also her butter sauce was clam juice with some oil in it, no garlic taste at all. I ordered veal parmesan, it was covered with 2 slices cheese, maybe I am wrong, but I have never had sliced cheese in Italian food. My "spaghetti sauce" was canned stewed tomatoes. If you are ok with frozen & can food, this is a place for you.
Food was awful! Bland sauce (they just dumped canned tomatoes on pasta). Italian food can be simple but it should also have basic seasoning (garlic, herbs, salt and pepper). Save your money and go somewhere else
My hobby and I went to eat at Pine and of Rome last Friday night. Excellent customer service, fabulous food, great companion and I can't complain about anything. Superb evening 🌞
This restaurant is my favored. I visit a lot of restaurants but to this restaurant I keep coming back again and again. The team is very professional and the cuisine they offer is so fresh and tasty. I never decline to have a decent dinner in this place. I highly recommend this place.
Good authentic Italian food. White pizza with cheese is a must. Pastas are good as are all their dishes
The fourth movement is my favorite, it’s just a giant crescendo!
Very nice! Enjoyable dinner out. Food was good. Vela and shell fish platter were excellent.
Best restaurant in Bethesda. Great service with the white pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, and veal dishes being real standouts . Excellent seafood pasta dishes, roasts and specials. Be sure to order a cappuccino and cannolli or the rum cake. Kid friendly.
This was without a doubt the worst Italian I have had. Very bland and all the restaurant does for their sauce is poor a tin of chopped tomatoes over it. No herbs or flavour. My wife had the lasagne and it was luck warm and burnt around the top, obviously reheated while not quite defrosted and just for good measure the sauce was the tin tomatoes again. I would give this zero stars if I could. A complete waste of money as far as I was concerned. I would have complained but had two kids under 5 kicking off because they had left there food and was hungry. We have drawn a line under it and written off what we spent
The white pizza is amazing. Everything else is ok.
If you know Italian food, the sauce separates the good from the great. I cook sauce often being Italian myself. This place dumps unseasoned Roma tomatoes onto their pasta dishes and should be embarrassed bringing that to guests.I don't even know how they managed to make a bouillabaisse this tasteless. And the ravioli was definitely not homemade as the menu indicated.Another forgettable DC area dining experience. Yet somehow there was a line out the door.
Best Italian joint in B'town.
Had pasta and it reminded me of something I could make at home. Nothing special. Salad was also not anything special and only dressing they had was the oil and vinegar on the table. Add in the noise level and it isn't a place I will go back to
White pizza with cheese is always the best anywhere. Great service, very fresh ingredients, nice folks.
Awesome white beans.
White cheese pizza is the name of the game.
Service was a bit slow. Was only asked if we wanted drink refills when we were ready to leave.
Felt like I was in Captain America 1, haha. I know people who really love the food here, but for me, they are just fine. Not awful as some people say, but not as good as it should be. Service is fantastic! Generally a good place.
This is my favorite place in Bethesda. My family and I have been coming here for 25+ years. Best Italian food ever!
3.5 stars. Got pizza carryout around dinner time on a Sunday.Of four toppings, 2 whole, and 2 half, only the half-pizza toppings were correct. The whole-pizza toppings were just missing :(Basically, only ⅓ of my order was correct. I'll consider that next time I order from here......which I probably will do. Maybe only when dining-in is normal again, however. And I can have it fresh from the oven. And can easily visually verify correctness 😉Sauce was basically plain crushed sweet tomatoes, which was hit-or-miss with my guests. Pizza was overall better than most, but nowhere near the best I've had.
Pines of Rome is my favorite restaurant on the entire planet! My family has been going here for over 40 years and I have been going since I was young enough to remember! The white pizza is to die for it is so amazingly rich and gooey. When I think of pines of Rome I think of family and more than just family, my Italian heritage. You go there for the food and the food makes you feel good. I literally go to pines every time I am in town (I now live in Kentucky). This place is so sentimental to me I will always remember going here with my great grandparents, my grandparents, my parents and I hope one day my child will do the same!
Not italian at all .they dont have idea what is the italian food .i just paid and left
It has a really comfortable, homey, family-oriented atmosphere. The fried zucchini and lasagna were delicious. Large portions at reasonable price. Looking forward to coming back!
Excellent food and prices. Would visit again.
The place is great and roomy, the menu was yummy and the rates were very economical. quick, productive service and very affable staff members. Recommended.
What a wonderful meal we had! Fun Italian restaurant In Bethesda to meet with my great aunt and uncle and their kids and grandchild prior to our theater in DC. All the food was fresh and fabulous. I’d love to go back here anytime!
Although I liked the old location, it's still the same great restaurant. Very comfortable and inviting interior. Inexpensive, for an Italian restaurant, with great food and attentive service. Had their famous white pizza with cheese, incredible! All their sauce is tomato based and it's delicious. Had the meatballs and spaghetti. The meatballs were tender and wonderful with the sauce and the spaghetti on the side. As an aside, there is public parking nearby but you need an app to pay for parking.
Nice little family owned restaurant. The food was good, but not outstanding. Some of our dishes were a little bland. But service was competent.
My whole family really enjoyed our birthday celebration . Great food ! Very attentive waiter.
Great Italian place in Bethesda!
I love this restaurant and I make to drive from DC to go here. The food is delicious, the portions are big, and the prices are cheap.
Outstanding food and service.
Watery, bland food. Would give fewer stars if not for their delicious white pizza.
They don't have IPAs.... And very limited wine selection. But, food is very good and authentic. White pizza, eggplant parmigiana, sauted mushrooms, all soo good.
awful service and dirty atmosphere, food was undercooked and had bugs
This spot is worth giving a shot. They have large portions for convenient prices. Regularly clean and with fantastic character. I highly recommend this place.
Home made pasta. Had veal parmigiana. Thin and breaded. Was really good. Am pleased. Sauce were good too!Had their cannoli. Not home made. Would not order cannoli again yet the dishes n spaghetti was good!
Was there for lunch with friends and we shared a pizza, mussels and fried calamari. It was all good. I haven't been there for years. I be back soon.
You can’t go wrong here. Classic Italian. The grandmother still cooks in the back. As does the owner, Signore M, he’s always around making sure everything runs perfectly. Chicken parm, white pizza, meatballs, Italian salad. Mama Mia!
Awesome food, great service and cozy atmosphere, reasonably priced. Love this place!
Always a great meal. Been coming for 30 years and never disappointed. Don't expect a fancy white table cloth place here though. Just honest, good food!
Excellent, had the shell fish pasta garlic and oil platter. It was delicious. Served quickly.
Best Italian in the DMV! Absolutely love everything on the menu, including the cheese and tomato pizza, clams and linguine, and the rum cake which is to die for! I've been going here for over 14 years and they never dissapoint with the food quality, cleanliness and service! Keep it up guys!
The Specials are delicious as are their regular menu items.
Wonderful ambience and super affable service. The meals were fresh and delightful. Will clearly recommend this place to friends. Reasonable prices and large meals. Good job.
I love this place. The prices are fair, and the food is good. The atmosphere is very old school and the restaurant is very easy to get to with lots of parking near by at the county parking garage.
